At Tecto, we are committed to providing quality products and excellent customer service. If you're not completely satisfied with your purchase, we're here to help.

This Returns & Refund Policy is designed to comply with the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 (South Africa).

1. Your Rights Under the Consumer Protection Act (CPA)

As a South African consumer, you have certain rights when purchasing goods from Tecto, including the right to receive products that are:

  • Of good quality

  • In good working order

  • Free from defects

  • Suitable for their intended purpose

  • As described on our website

Nothing in this policy limits or removes any rights you have under South African law.

2. Change of Mind Returns

If you change your mind after receiving your order, you may request a return within 7 days of delivery, provided that:

  • The item is unused and in its original condition.

  • All original packaging, accessories, manuals and protective seals (where applicable) are included.

  • The product shows no signs of wear, damage or misuse.

  • Proof of purchase is provided.

Once the returned item has been inspected and approved, we may offer:

  • A refund to your original payment method, or

  • Store credit, where agreed.

Please note:

  • Return courier costs for change-of-mind returns are the customer's responsibility unless otherwise agreed.

  • Original shipping charges are generally non-refundable.

Certain products cannot be returned for hygiene, safety or legal reasons if opened or used.

3. Faulty, Damaged or Defective Products

If your product arrives damaged, is defective, or develops a fault covered under the Consumer Protection Act, please contact us as soon as possible.

  • Your order number

  • A description of the problem

  • Clear photographs or a short video showing the fault

After inspection, Tecto may:

  • Repair the product;

  • Replace the product; or

  • Refund you in accordance with the Consumer Protection Act.

4. Six-Month Implied Warranty

In accordance with Section 56 of the Consumer Protection Act, qualifying products carry an implied warranty of quality for six (6) months from the date of delivery.

If a product fails due to a manufacturing defect during this period and has not been damaged through misuse, abuse, accidental damage, unauthorised modification or normal wear and tear, you may be entitled to a repair, replacement or refund as provided for by law.

5. Items That Cannot Be Returned

Returns may not be accepted where:

  • The product has been used, damaged or altered by the customer.

  • The damage resulted from misuse, negligence or improper installation.

  • The product is missing accessories, manuals or original packaging.

  • The return falls outside the applicable legal or policy period.

  • The product is a hygiene item that has been opened or used where return is not permitted by law.

6. Refund Processing

Once your return has been received and inspected, we will notify you of the outcome.

If approved:

  • Refunds are processed back to the original payment method where possible.

  • Processing times generally range between 5–10 business days, depending on your payment provider.

7. Return Shipping

If the return is due to:

  • A defective, incorrect or damaged product, Tecto will arrange or cover reasonable return shipping where applicable.

  • A change of mind, the customer is responsible for return courier costs.
